Adding hyperlinks in Illustrator
Illustrator allows you to add hyperlinks to your artwork, making it interactive and clickable. You can hyperlink to other websites, documents, or even email addresses. Follow the steps below to learn how to add a hyperlink in Illustrator.
1. Open your Illustrator document.
2. Select the object that you want to turn into a hyperlink. This can be text, an image, or any other object.
3. Go to the ‘Window’ menu and select ‘Interactive’. This will open the ‘Interactive’ panel.
4. In the ‘Interactive’ panel, click on the ‘Hyperlinks’ tab.
5. Enter the URL or email address that you want to link to in the ‘URL’ field.
6. You can also add a tooltip, which is the text that will appear when someone hovers their mouse over the hyperlinked object. To do this, enter the tooltip text in the ‘Tooltip’ field.
7 . Click ‘OK’ when you’re done
Formatting hyperlinked text
There are two ways to format hyperlinked text in Illustrator. You can either format the text before you create the hyperlink, or you can format the text after you create the hyperlink.
If you want to format the text before you create the hyperlink, select the text that you want to format and then click the “Hyperlink” button in the “Properties” panel. This will open the “Hyperlink” dialog box. In the “Hyperlink” dialog box, select the “Text” tab and then choose the formatting options that you want to use for your linked text.
If you want to format your linked text after you have already created the hyperlink, select the hyperlinked text and then click the “Edit” button in the “Properties” panel. This will open the “Edit Hyperlink” dialog box. In the “Edit Hyperlink” dialog box, select the “Text” tab and then choose the formatting options that you want to use for your linked text.
Changing hyperlink colors
You can easily change the color of your hyperlinks in Illustrator by selecting the Type tool, highlight the text you want to change, and click on the “fill” color in the toolbar. Then, simply click on the color you want to use from the swatches palette.
Adding hyperlinks to images
In Adobe Illustrator, you can add hyperlinks to any object, including images. This can be a great way to add additional information or make your illustrations more interactive. Here’s how to do it:
1. Select the object that you want to add a hyperlink to.
2. Go to the “Object” menu and select “Create Hyperlink.”
3. In the window that appears, enter the URL that you want to link to and click “OK.”
4. That’s it! Your object will now be hyperlinked.
There are a few ways to create hyperlinked buttons in Adobe Illustrator. You can use the Hyperlinks panel to quickly add actions to buttons, or you can use the State Options dialog box to add triggers and actions to objects.
With the Hyperlinks panel, you can add actions to objects without having to create separate button symbols. To add an action to an object using the Hyperlinks panel, select the object, and then click the Add New Hyperlink button at the bottom of the panel. In the Add New Hyperlink dialog box, select an action from the Event pop-up menu, and then click OK.
If you want more control over your button’s behavior, you can use the State Options dialog box. To add triggers and actions to an object using the State Options dialog box, select the object, and then click the Edit States button at the bottom of the panel. In the State Options dialog box, click Triggers in the left column, and then click Add Trigger. In the Add Trigger dialog box, select an action from the Event pop-up menu, and then click OK.
Adding hyperlinks to shapes
In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to add hyperlinks to shapes in Adobe Illustrator. We’ll be using the Rectangle Tool (M) to create our shapes, but feel free to use any other tool you like.
First, open your document in Illustrator and create a new layer. Then, select the Rectangle Tool (M) and click anywhere on your artboard. A new shape will be created.
Next, open the Hyperlinks panel by going to Window > Hyperlinks. In the panel, click on the “None” button and select “URL.”
In the next field, type in the URL you want to link to. You can also select an existing file on your computer by clicking on the “Browse” button.
Finally, click on the “Apply” button and your shape will now be hyperlinked!
Testing your hyperlinks
To test your hyperlinks, click the play button in the Control panel, or choose Control > Test Movie. The Flash Player movie plays in another window. When you mouse over a hyperlinked object, the pointer changes to a hand icon . When you click the object, the linked document or file opens in its associated application.
