If you want to change the color of an object in Illustrator, there are a few different ways you can do it. You can use the fill color tool, the stroke color tool, or the color panel.

In this Adobe Illustrator tutorial, we’re going to show you how to change the color of an object. Whether you want to change the color of a single object or multiple objects at once, we’ll show you how to do it.
Selecting the object
To change the color of an object in Illustrator, first select the object. To do this, click on the object with the Selection tool. The Selection tool is the black arrow located in the Tools panel on the left side of the screen.
Once the object is selected, go to the Appearance panel (Window > Appearance). In the Appearance panel, you will see a list of all of the attributes that are applied to the selected object. The first attribute listed is usually Fill. To change the color of the object, click on the word “Fill” and then click on the color you want to use from the Swatches panel.
Changing the color
To change the color of an object in Adobe Illustrator, select the object and click on the “Color” drop-down menu in the toolbar. Choose the desired color from the menu. Alternatively, click on the “Swatches” tool and select a color from the Swatches panel.
Adding a color gradient
There are several ways to add color to an object in Illustrator. One way is to add a color gradient. A gradient is a progression of colors, usually from light to dark or from one color to another. Adding a gradient to an object can give it a more realistic look, or you can use it for purely decorative purposes.
To add a color gradient to an object in Illustrator:
1. Select the object you want to add the gradient to.
2. Go to the “Edit” menu and choose “Edit Colors.”
3. Click on the “Fill” tab and then click on the “Gradient” option.
4. Choose the colors you want to use for your gradient. You can either click on the “Swatches” tab and choose from preset colors, or you can click on the “Color” tab and mix your own custom colors.
5. Click on the “OK” button when you’re done choosing your colors.
Using the color panel
In Illustrator, there are several ways to change the color of an object. One way is to use the color panel. To do this, select the object you want to change the color of and then open the color panel. In the color panel, you will see a variety of colors to choose from. Select the color you want and then click “OK.”
Changing the color of a pattern
To create a recolorable pattern in Illustrator, start by selecting the repetition tile of the design. To do this, use the Selection tool to draw a marquee around the outside edges of the design. With the repetition tile selected, go to Object > Pattern > Make.
In the Pattern Options dialogue box that appears, give your pattern a name and choose whether you want your pattern to Tile Horizontally, Tile Vertically, or both. Then click Done.
Now open the Swatches panel (Window > Swatches). In the Swatches panel, find your new pattern swatch towards the bottom of the panel and double-click on it to open the Pattern Options dialogue box again.
At the top of the dialogue box, next to Color Type, select Uncolored. This makes all colors in your pattern swatch editable. Click Done to close the dialogue box and return to your artwork.
With your new recolorable pattern swatch selected in the Swatches panel, use the Eyedropper tool to change colors within your design.
Creating a new color swatch
To change the color of an object in Illustrator, you need to create a new color swatch. To do this, select the object you want to change the color of. Then, click on the “Swatches” panel (Window > Swatches). In the Swatches panel, click on the “New Swatch” icon. A “New Swatch” dialog box will appear. In this dialog box, you need to select a color model and a color value.
Using the eyedropper tool
If you want to change the color of an object in Illustrator, you can use the eyedropper tool. With the eyedropper tool selected, click on the object whose color you want to change. The color of the object will change to the color that you clicked on.
Deleting a color swatch
Deleting a color swatch is simple. In the Swatches panel, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the swatch you want to delete, and then choose Delete Swatch from the context menu.
While there are many ways to change the color of an object in Illustrator, the best way to do it will vary depending on what you’re trying to achieve. If you want to change the color of an object permanently, you can use the Recolor Artwork tool. If you want to experiment with different colors temporarily, you can use the Color Guide panel. And if you want to create a fade effect, you can use the Transparency tool. Whichever method you choose, changing colors in Illustrator is easy and fun!
